Meeting called to order at 5:26 by Paul Schiro.

Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the November 12, 2007 meeting were amended to add “with Effie McDermott in attendance” Amended minutes were approved. Agenda as printed was approved.
Treasurer's Report
Current balance is $1081.75. Membership dues and now due and payable at $25 per family and $50 per business
Announcements:
Dedication of former Methodist Church on Windward on 12/15/07 from 11:30 - 4:00 as “La Perla del Mar'.
Up-Coming Events
12/22/07 drawing for a giant dog at The Alcove. Holiday decorations of businesses was commended.
Executive Round-Up Report (Paul)
Brief discussion of topics of meeting, 127/07, “where are we going from here?” set the tone. Need for communication and synergy, work on newsletter and web site was commended, a banner with our web site address, moved around neighborhood would generate more attraction to SBIG.
Neighborhood Watch
Paul reported that a “coffee with a Policeman” approach would work better than a “meeting”. We want city to have a program in place. We are getting closer.
Newsletter
It is in the works, will be coming out this week-end. It will be produced on a quarterly basis, in the second week of the first month of the quarter. Announcement cards would be mailed for special events as well as flyers left in prominent locations.
Trashcans
Charlene picked up 14 with Mike Spangler. State Wide Safety and Sign needs to be thanked. Paul will take care of it. Do we want butt cans? Paul will ask at Alex's BBQ if they will buy one, 4 or 5 would be a start. City will place 2 cans on private property as pilot program. Need hard date by next meeting for decoration of cans.
New Business:
Where do we go from here.. Trashcans
Physical condition and needs of cans discussed. Joan Suttle moved to authorize up to $75 or hire power washer for trashcans. Motion passed with 1 opposed. Decoration of cans discussed. Katchy explained Morro Bay 's phased approach and sponsorship of cans with artists submitting their ideas. Consensus for theme of “Seaside Environment”. Need to meet with artists and discuss what they want to do and what they need to do it.
Grants and Donations to help fund SBIG
Lompoc Library is completely supported by sponsors. There is a database of groups/companies that have to give a certain amount each year. Discussion on how to or whether we can access it. Susie Fulton and Tony Hyman will investigate outside funding and report back to group at next meeting.
Town Hall Meeting- January 23, 2008
Teresa McClish reported. Survey data wasn't useful enough. Focus will be on topo data. Photo collages, aerials, and preliminary design concepts are being prepared for Jan meeting. Paul wants to hear from consultants to keep communication open and give feed-back from the community. Discussion of venue. Consensus of group is that it will work at the Vet's Hall in SB. Laurie Cummings volunteered to make a Happy New Year's card to community inviting them to both meetings. Teresa will check with city on what they can do for us on postage. Notice needs to be sent out by Jan 10, 2008 . Notice to be given via Tribune, KSBY, New Times, Channel 20, and web site. Molly Montgomery moved to authorize up to $200 for the purchase of a banner printed with “SBIG.org It's About Where we Live”. Motion passed. Rick Turton asked for volunteers to ask information to web site. He will provide them with password.
Next meeting is January 14, 2008 at 5:30 in the Shell Beach Vet's Hall
