Shell Beach Improvement Group
On May 18, 2005 a group of Shell Beach residents, business owners and community leaders came together at the City of Pismo Beach Community Improvement Group meeting held at the City Council Chambers to discuss what the residents and business owners of Shell Beach would like to see done with $20,000 ear marked by the City for improving Shell Beach Road.
So many residents and business owners came to the meeting with so many great ideas that it was decided that we should meet the very next week to continue our discussions on all the ideas and visions we had for our community. Harry Lindell volunteered his wonderful restaurant to allow us to come together and meet at Alex's Bar B-Q the very next week on May 24, 2005. The group decided to officially organize and vote on a Board of Directors then decided on the name Shell Beach Improvement Group, thus SBIG was born. Since that day and with a strong commitment from the residents, business owners and community leaders, SBIG has become a very strong and unified voice in the City of Pismo Beach. SBIG has made great progress with the ideas and vision discussed in those early meetings and has continued to identify needed projects for the on going improvement of Shell Beach.
As you browse through our wonderful website you will see evidence of this strong community commitment by this special group of volunteers in our community and the difference a group like SBIG can make! We welcome everyone and encouraged you to bring your great ideas and join us at one of our future meetings and see how your ideas can make a difference in Shell Beach!
